At the Senate Judiciary Committee that was organized to discuss the hearing on the ongoing trial of abortion a tensed and heated argument arose between Senator Josh Hawley (42) with Professor Khiara Bridges that turned into an allegation of transphobia.
Khiara Bridges accused Sen. Josh Hawley of being transphobic when he brought up the topic of what individuals can get pregnant to which prof. Bridges replied that it’s not just women but even non-binary people and transexuals can also get pregnant. The senator then questions if this abortion is really a ‘women’s rights issue’ then. This led to a serious argument where the professor lashed out at the senator for being transphobic; hurting and opening the trans community to more violence by not recognizing them. It seems that both the opposing sides held firm in their arguments and fought to justify their statements. Sen. Josh, even, took to Twitter and shared the clip with a caption that reads.
‘The Democrats say what they really think:
Men can get pregnant and if you disagree, you are “transphobic” and responsible for violence’
The clip with this caption took Twitter by storm and was met with many various different views, both in support and against.
Jason Rantz, a famous radio host used his handle to showcase his views by stating:
‘A pro-abortion lunatic has a meltdown when she’s told men can’t get pregnant and accuses Sen.Josh Hawley of transphobia, is the reason why the Left in 2022 is tanking in the polls.’
A Newsweek editor showed their opinion by showing his support for Sen. Hawley, appreciating him over his line of questioning, and for not backing out from his word. He even used the words ‘exposed woke insanity’ on his Twitter.
Just like all the supporters had things to say in favor of Hawley, those who opposed him had their opinions too and stood by the professor’s and, in turn, the democrats’, side.
MSNBC host Mehdi Hassan was so impressed by the way Prof. Bridges handled the argument that he wondered why she herself doesn’t run for any government office.
Progressive Representative Ayanna Pressley took to Twitter and applauded the professor with some enthusiastic words. She stated:
‘It’s the excellence, knowledge, and the truth-telling by Prof. Khiara Bridges for me.’
Similarly, many people who sided with Khiara Bridges on the argument felt that the Republicans finally got someone from the ‘Left’ so them the ‘Right’ place.
Their whole argument was covered by many various news channels and is still a heated topic among many talk shows and social media handles. The argument mayhaps is over but the heat has still not died down yet as viewership continuously increases and followers on both sides use their handles in the media to voice out their opinion and support their respective members.
