All the Details From The FBI Report on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 2016 Jet Incident

The FBI’s 53-page dossier, which was obtained, detailed assault accusations on board a private plane involving Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and their children. The incident is classified as “criminal conduct,” and it is in this report that Jolie’s account of events, as disclosed to the FBI during an interview at her Malibu, California, residence on Oct. 18, 2016, is spelled out in disturbing detail. According to the report, Jolie told the FBI that she and her six children were returning to California after a two-week stay. She told the FBI that she took the children with her because Pitt had a business meeting before leaving, and they all met at the airport.

Jolie went on to explain that she could immediately see there was a “problem” between presumably Pitt and their then minor son, Maddox, but neither is mentioned in the severely censored report. She noticed [redacted] grabbing [redacted]’s arm and pointing and that [redacted] appeared “sad.” Jolie stated that she even knelt at Pitt’s feet and inquired what was wrong. In the story, Pitt allegedly stated, “That kid looks like a f**king Columbine kid. You don’t know what you’re doing.”

However, an hour and a half into the trip, Pitt approached her and forcibly instructed her to “come here,” to the back of the plane. According to the statement, they proceeded to the lavatory, and he reportedly began screaming at her there, where the kids couldn’t see them. Jolie also claimed that Pitt “grabbed her by the head and then her shoulders, shaking her.” He then “pushed her into the bathroom wall and started yelling things like, ‘You’re f***king up this family.'” Pitt then mentioned [redacted], “[redacted] is going to kill someone. Will you be happy then?” He even “punched the ceiling of the plane roughly four times” during the purported argument.

According to the story, as Jolie opened the door to the bathroom, two of their kids were weeping and asked, “Are you okay, mommy?” As Jolie knelt to embrace her children, Pitt shoved her and started shouting, “No, Mommy is not fine. She’s destroying this family. She’s insane. “His outburst terrified the kids, causing one of them to call their father a “prick.” He reacted by approaching the youngster “like he was going to attack.” Jolie grabbed Pitt around the neck to place him “in a choking hold,” and, in response, Pitt reportedly hurled himself back, causing Jolie to be forced against the plane’s seats, gaining injuries to her back and elbow.

Jolie’s reported injuries were characterized by a “rug burn” lesion on her right hand, bruises on her right elbow, and back pain. Images of purported injuries were attached to the FBI report as well. Jolie reports that even the wine got all over the chair at one point, causing around $25,000 worth of damages. However, wine was not the only alcoholic beverage spilled on the flight. Jolie alleges Pitt dunked beer on her and the blanket she was wearing when she was lying with their kids. Jolie stated that Pitt was inebriated, but he was still alert, competent, and not rambling. For good measure, Jolie claims to have witnessed Pitt down a whole bottle of vodka and still operate.

Angelina Jolie also states that Brad Pitt sat at the back of the plane “viewing the family in a mirror on the wall.” and would “start a fresh rage every 30 minutes and pace across the plane ranting at everyone. “Once the plane landed, Jolie enquired about separate transportation for herself and the children. “There was really nothing available where they were going.” she was told. Jolie then stated that it had been a long journey and that they wanted to get out of this situation, that the children had not slept, and that they should rent a hotel and proceed to California the next day. Pitt “erupted,” and exclaimed, “You’re not f**king going anywhere. You’re not getting off that plane. F**k all of you. I’m f**king leaving you.” As the second part of the journey began, Jolie claimed that Pitt began shouting after only 20 minutes. He even urged her to go to the rear of the plane, which she did, and Pitt reportedly began ranting at her there. Jolie stated that she began to feel like a “hostage.”

Near the end of the trip, Pitt was said to have passed out at the back of the plane. When they were ready to land, she urged the kids to pack their bags and wait by the door while she went to Pitt to explain she was taking them to a hotel for 12 hours to relax. Jolie stated that she had previously talked with her Los Angeles contacts to have an extra vehicle available for her and the children. Pitt raged when she told him, yelling, “You’re not taking my f**king kids.” and rushed out of bed and shoved her as he continued to reportedly rant. This delayed their departure “for around 20 minutes,” and when finally they disembarked, Pitt “grabbed her arm, drew her closer to him. Then shook and seized her by the head and shoulders.” Someone, according to Jolie, intervened and urged, “Don’t hurt her.”

Following Jolie’s claims, Pitt was never prosecuted. According to the report, during a meeting in November 2016, the FBI case agent wrote, “After reviewing the document, the representative(s) of the United States Attorney’s Office discussed the merits of this investigation with the case agent. It was agreed by all parties that criminal charges, in this case, would not be pursued due to several factors.” “In response to allegations made following a flight within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States that landed in Los Angeles carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation. No charges have been filed in this matter,” said Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s field office in Los Angeles, at the time.

As previously reported, the report came months after a woman named Jane Doe sued the FBI for information about an investigation into an alleged domestic abuse incident aboard a private plane. The FBI launched an investigation on Brad Pitt after allegations that he got into a fight with his and Jolie’s then-15-year-old son, Maddox, on a family trip returning from Europe. The couple’s children are Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14.

The description in the suit, filed under the Freedom of Information Act, matched the alleged altercation between Pitt and Jolie and stated that Doe’s FOIA request was to “better understand the FBI’s investigation and obtain information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling” in connection with the alleged incident. Doe filed the case in response to the “defendants’ concealment of more records,” according to the filings. Angelina Jolie divorced Brad Pitt in September 2016, and the divorce was concluded in 2019. In addition to the continuing custody dispute, Pitt sued Jolie in February for selling Chateau Miraval Winery, which he owns in part, to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler. He accused Jolie of attempting to “inflict harm” on him and his interests in their Chateau Miraval Winery in June.
